Christmas has come early at an Oxfordshire supermarket where festive treats are on sale alongside summer lines.
With three and a half months - or 103 sleeps - to go until the big day Asda is already selling festive chocolates... in September.
Tubs of Roses and Quality Street for Secret Santa gifts and Cadbury's robins and snowballs are on special offer at an Asda store in Carterton.
The supermarket has already unveiled its Christmas range online meaning party food, decorations and clothing along with other yuletide treats are expected to hit stores in the coming weeks.
Home Bargains was one of the first shops in the country to begin stocking tinsel, baubles and Christmas cards even before Halloween items.
Meanwhile Morrisons started stocking its Christmas chocolate and gifts range in stores in the first week of September, closely followed by Tesco and Sainsbury.
A spokesperson for Asda said: "We do this because we know how important it is for our shoppers to be able to spread the cost of Christmas and we start to see searches for Christmas products on Asda.com as early as August.
"Our confectionery tubs are a popular product for shoppers to stock up on and we currently have a brilliant deal on them for Asda Rewards customers."
