The rescheduling of shows at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, including Peter Kay and The Black Keys performances, have left fans unsure whether the Olivia Rodrigo shows will go ahead as planned at the start of May.

The new arena in the city isn’t “ready” to open yet and with just a week to go before Rodrigo takes to the stage, concerns are being raised by fans.

Today (April 26) the arena responded to some fans on X, formerly Twitter, explaining what will happen regarding the shows.

Will Olivia Rodrigo shows go ahead?

The Co-op Live arena has assured fans that the Olivia Rodrigo shows will go ahead as planned.

In its X post, the arena said: “Today's announcement comes with reassurance that we welcome fans to Co-op Live from Boogie Wit Da Hoodie on 1 May and into Olivia Rodrigo from 3 May 2024.”

Despite this confirmation, some fans still remain unsure whether Rodrigo’s shows will go ahead as Peter Kay's shows have been postponed twice so far.

Some fans have questioned whether the arena will be safe to house fans with one replying: “Are you sure??? Doesn’t seem safe at all…”

This comes as the arena posted on X today (April 26) explaining that it is “testing critical procedures” and will need more time to do so.

Another said: “i would rather it just be cancelled/rescheduled now rather than this guessing game if olivia will go ahead or not it’s not fair on people who have hotels and transport booked”.

A third said: “If you are going to cancel, can you at least give 48 hrs notice , in order to be able to cancel hotels and not lose money please. Have Olivia Rod tickets and no confidence that is going ahead right now”.

The postponement of shows today has lead to fans asking if a variety of shows planned in May will go ahead.
