There will be multiple temporary traffic lights in Witney town centre for over a month.

Network Plus, on behalf of SSEN, will be carrying out essential maintenance on the power network in Witney from Monday October 7 to Friday November 15.

The work areas will be along Woodgreen and Newland with temporary traffic signals put in place at four locations.

To minimise disruption, only one set of temporary traffic lights will be used at a time.

Network Plus have permission from Oxfordshire County Council to keep the traffic signals operational over the weekends while work is ongoing.

Manual control of the traffic signals will be in place from 7.30am to 7pm to prevent traffic from backing up into the roundabouts at the junction of Wood Green and Newland.

Due to the works and temporary traffic signals, they need to suspend two bus stops for safety reasons.

The affected stops are both Staple Hall bus stops (Stop IDs: oxfapgmt and oxfapgmw) which will remain suspended throughout the works period.

Network Plus thanked residents in advance for their "understanding and cooperation".
