AN INSPECTOR has described an Abingdon preschool as 'friendly and welcoming'.

Ofsted visited Peachcroft Pre-School last month and has now published its report, awarding a rating of 'good'.

The report, released on Tuesday, said: "Staff help children to settle well in this friendly and welcoming pre-school.

"They support children to become confident and develop positive skills for independence.

"Parents speak highly of the pre-school and feel well informed about their children's learning and development."

The preschool, based at North East Abingdon Community Centre, had 49 children on roll when Ofsted visited.

It was the setting's first Ofsted inspection since it registered in 2016.

The inspector's report said: "Children become confident communicators who are able to express their ideas, thoughts and feelings.

"They play well with their friends and listen and respond positively to adults."
