DIDCOT Town boss Andy Ballard says none of his players or staff are talking about their Evo-Stik South League West Division play-off hopes.

Ballard, who oversaw his side’s 3-1 win against fellow high-fliers Salisbury City in midweek, says a lot of people are asking him about their chances of a top-five finish.

But he insists that it’s not something they are discussing – yet!

Ballard said: “As a squad, we’re letting everyone else do the talking for us. We haven’t set ourselves any targets and we haven’t spoken about a possible play-off finish.

“I think that as soon as you take your eye off the next game, you may come unstuck.

“We are in a fantastic position and on a great run, so as long as we keep picking up points, you never know what might happen.

“But it really isn’t something that I am thinking about yet.”

Ballard, whose side face another crucial test against fellow play-off hopefuls Winchester City tomorrow, was delighted with the midweek performance.

“In our preparation for the Salisbury game, we spoke about starting bright and being confident.

“We hadn’t conceded a goal at home since November, and in every game where we’ve scored first this season, we have won.

“So, it was important that we put them under pressure from the start.

“We played with confidence and freedom and some of our football was exceptional,” he said.

Adam Learoyd begins a three-match ban, following his red card in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Swindon Supermarine.

Seth Humphries is still injured, while George Reid is away.

North Leigh boss John Brough bemoaned his side’s performance as they crashed to their ninth defeat in ten games when losing 2-1 at fellow strugglers Shortwood on Saturday.

Brough, whose side host AFC Totton tomorrow, says his players face a tough relegation run-in, and need to pick up form quickly.

He said: “Last weekend was very disappointing. We were well under par. The performance was not acceptable.”

The Millers have not won since December 5 and are languishing just above the drop zone.

But Brough says his players need to stop feeling sorry for themselves.

“We went in front at Shortwood and for the first 25 minutes we were doing fine,” he said.

“But then the players thought they could change things and stopped doing the basics.

“This is a huge test for everyone at the club. We need to pick up soon or we will face relegation.”

Lorcan Sheehan has left to join Cinderford Town, while Ryan Paddock and Anthony Simpson return. Jamie Cook (knee) is a slight doubt.

Kidlington, with only one defeat in the last eight matches, are at full strength for their trip to Slimbridge.

Julian McCalmon’s outfit drew 2-2 with Slimbridge at Yarnton Road earlier in the season.

In the East Division, Thame United will look to build on last weekend’s excellent win at Beaconsfield when they entertain Hanwell Town.
