CLANFIELD were unable to stop Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West leaders Cheltenham Saracens on Saturday.
The table-toppers left Radcot Road with all three points after a 3-1 victory in a game they took control of from the outset.
The visitors went ahead on 25 minutes when Ian Sercombe cut inside and fired past goalkeeper Jamie Zoldan.
The hosts kept battling, however, and it was not until the 63rd minute that Kai Mahon made it 2-0.
Clanfield’s fate was sealed ten minutes
later when midfielder Josh Coakley scored from a set-piece.
But they did have something to cheer in the final minute when Jozef Fullerton fired home from close
range.
Clanfield make the short trip to take on North Leigh United on Saturday.
