KIT Cutter scored twice in a minute to help fire Oxford Hawks to the top of the Men’s National League Conference West.

Andy Watts also netted a brace in the 4-1 victory at home to Chichester, which sent them into first place on goal difference.

In testing weather conditions, Cutter quickly put the hosts in front when he capitalised on a defensive slip.

And he made it 2-0 with the next attack, latching on to a long aerial ball from Jack Biggs and firing in with a well-taken reverse stick strike.

Chichester quickly pulled a goal back, but with just 13 minutes gone Watts restored the two-goal advantage.

He doubled his tally 11 minutes after the break and Hawks almost added a fifth, but Ed Tristem’s shot struck an upright.

Witney were unable to halt MBBO Regional Division 1 leaders Maidenhead.

The visitors won 4-2, but they fell behind as a strong start saw Liam Frost set up Ben Kirk to score.

Maidenhead responded and eventually the pressure told, as they took a 2-1 lead in at the break.

They stretched the lead with two more goals in the second half, before Tim Chilvers pulled a goal back for Witney from a short corner.

Will Heyward scored five goals as Oxford OBU thrashed hosts Wallingford 8-1 to claim their third win in four games.

Zum Akhbar, Worcester Bowden and Tom Boon also notched, while Tom Ferris scored Wallingford’s consolation.
