JULIAN McCalmon’s revolution at Kidlington will continue tomorrow when his side host local rivals North Leigh in a crunch battle between the bottom two sides in Division 1 Central of the Evo-Stik South League.

McCalmon, who replaced Ady Fuller as manager two weeks ago, has made sweeping changes at the Yarnton Road outfit, bringing several players back to the club.

Prolific striker Anaclet Odhiambo and ex-Didcot Town defender Jack Bernasconi are added to the squad as Kidlington look to mount a recovery against a North Leigh side that have lost their last six league matches.

McCalmon said: “I’m delighted to have a striker of Anaclet’s quality back at the club. I am really looking forward to the challenge of keeping Kidlington in the South League.”

North Leigh boss Craig Dore says he expects a reaction after last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Sutton Coldfield, which he describes as the worst performance of the season.

Dore said: “Last Saturday was shocking. It was so poor, and there didn’t appear to be any commitment from anyone. Our confidence is very low, there’s no doubt about it.”

His cause will not be helped with the news that new signing Horatio Hirst has torn his hamstring and is out for four to six weeks.

Leading scorer George Seacole (groin) is also ruled out, while Jack Tutton is away.

Dore has signed keeper Eddie Cavanagh from Reading City.

“Tomorrow is a massive game for us,” he said. “We’re stuck in a rut, and we need to get out of it quickly.”

Didcot Town boss Andy Ballard is hoping to build on their midweek Buildbase FA Trophy replay win at Mangotsfield as they entertain Bedford Town at Loop Meadow.

The Railwaymen won 4-2 after extra time on Tuesday, and Ballard hopes the confidence will return to bolster their league campaign.

He said: “The lads showed a real togetherness and played with great maturity to get the win.

“Tomorrow will be a massive test for us as Bedford are a really experienced side who have started really well.

“But I think that Tuesday’s win will boost our confidence and if we show the same sort of courage and determination, we have every chance of getting a result.”

Callum McNish is suspended, while Aaron and Matty Woodley are both side-lined through injury and George Reid faces a fitness test.

Thame United face a tricky trip to high-flying Peterborough Sports, but will be buoyed by last weekend’s FA Trophy win over Bristol Manor Farm.

Boss Mark West says confidence is high in the camp, although he is aware tomorrow’s trip to a Peterborough side that have lost just once, will be a tough task.

He said: “The lads did really well last weekend. It helped having Lynton (Goss) back and with Dan West coming back to fitness, going forward we’re looking good now.”

Jamie Essex misses the game as he is on holiday.

Banbury United will be looking to build on their midweek victory when they make the trip to Redditch United in the Premier Division Central tomorrow.

Mike Ford’s side failed to pick up an Evo-Stik South League win in October, their only success coming with a 3-0 triumph over Swindon Supermarine in the Buildbase FA Trophy on Tuesday night.

They have slipped down the table as a result, but have an opportunity to put that right when they travel to a side languishing in the lower reaches of the division.
