NICO Hulkenberg has his eyes on the prize as Renault bid to secure fourth place in the Formula 1 constructors’ championship at the final race in Abu Dhabi this weekend.

The Enstone-based team lead Haas, from Banbury, by 24 points and the German is determined to deliver.

He said: “There’s a lot at stake.

“Last year it went down to the wire. While this season we have more of a cushion, we go there knowing there’s a job to do and anything can happen.

“We want to make it a good last race and go into the off-season with a good feeling.

“I’m looking to get the best possible result, race hard and help the team confirm fourth place.”

Williams bid to end a dismal campaign on a high at the Yas Marina circuit.

The Grove-based team have collected just seven points all season and are bottom of the constructors’ championship.

Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin will be behind the wheel for the final time, but are eager to finish on a positive note.

“I think it is a good race to end the season,” Stroll said.

“It is quite spectacular what they have done with the place, and it is certainly unique.”

Williams’ chief technical officer Paddy Lowe added: “It has been a challenging year for the team.”
