OXFORD United will freshen their squad with a trio of players who will come into the reckoning for today’s visit to Brentford.

January signings Jordan Graham and Mark Sykes are joined by Shandon Baptiste, who is back after two and a half months out following shoulder surgery.

The more physical Baptiste could be preferred to Sykes when it comes to replacing the suspended Cameron Brannagan in midfield.

Graham is an obvious candidate to come in for Marcus Browne, who has been struggling with fatigue in recent games.

Boss Karl Robinson said: “Two of them will start. I don’t have anybody else.

“It’s the same squad with hopefully those three players in and we’ll drop some of the younger ones out.”

Defender Chris Mepham could return after injury for Brentford, but Canice Carroll will not face his former club after moving on loan to Swindon Town.

The Bees have won just twice in their last 20 games, but went four unbeaten over Christmas and held Sky Bet Championship title contenders Norwich City to a 1-1 draw on New Year’s Day.

Boss Thomas Frank will shuffle his pack but plans to resist wholesale changes, mindful of their 1-0 loss at home to League Two side Notts County at this stage last year.

He said: “We have a big respect for Oxford, because we know the difficulties that can be in the cup – we saw that last year.

“It’s a different test. I expect us to dominate – that’s nothing to do with Oxford, but they are in the division below us.

“We’re playing at home and we’re a team that normally dominates at home.”
