THAME United have been warned against complacency by boss Mark West when they face struggling Oxfordshire rivals North Leigh in the Evo-Stik South League tomorrow.

They travel to Eynsham Park with a four-point cushion over the chasing pack in Division 1 Central’s play-off places.

But West is expecting a tough afternoon against the Millers, who climbed to within a point of safety on Tuesday night when beating Aylesbury.

The Thame boss, who names an unchanged squad, said: “A trip to North Leigh will not be easy.

“They have had some good results at home lately, and we have not been too great against the lower sides.

“So I will be stressing to my players that we have to be switched on from the start, or we will come away with nothing.”

Victory could see the Millers move out of the bottom two and the side are eyeing a third-straight home victory.

Joint boss Craig Dore said: “Our win over Aylesbury was really important, because it has kept us in touch with the sides above us.

“Our form since Christmas has been pleasing, and I think my players have the belief that they can get out of the relegation zone.

“I have a couple of seven-day approaches in for players to strengthen my squad, and so hopefully we can continue to improve.”

Andy Gunn returns after missing out last week due to work commitments.

Didcot Town can further boost their play-off credentials when they entertain Aylesbury United.

The Railwaymen extended their unbeaten run to seven games with victory over AFC Dunstable last weekend, which included a first league clean sheet since September.

Boss Andy Ballard is looking for more of the same.

He said: “I had called for a clean sheet before the game, and the lads stood up and were counted.

“After conceding far too many goals this season, we worked hard on defence in training, so it was really pleasing.”

Ballard singled out keeper Leigh Bedwell for praise.

“Leigh made at least three crucial saves that ensured we kept that clean sheet – he was brilliant for us,” he said.

“I’m also really encouraged by the form of Callum McNish who has scored six times in his last three games.

“We go into tomorrow full of confidence and hopefully can extend our unbeaten run.”

Bottom side Kidlington will be hoping to end a run of five defeats when they host third-placed Bromsgrove Sporting.

In Premier Division Central, Banbury United will look to build on their 6-1 win over Barwell, but face a stern test at leaders Stourbridge.

Boss Mike Ford is buoyed by the fact his side head to the West Midlands with confidence.

He said: “It’s not often you can win a game 6-1, but we have lots of attacking players.

“I’ve now got players scoring and we’re winning games, but we have a tough, tough game at Stourbridge.”
