SAMIR Carruthers is in line to play this afternoon for the first time since October.

The 25-year-old has made just six appearances on loan at Oxford United this season.

He suffered a knee injury on the opening day of the campaign, but after two months out he struggled to get up to speed.

It prompted an operation which has kept Carruthers sidelined for almost three months, but he is now back in full training.

The Sheffield United loanee travelled with the squad to Fleetwood Town last weekend, but was not included on the bench.

Instead he has been earmarked for an appearance when United’s under-23 side take on Gillingham in a friendly today behind closed doors.
