WANTAGE Town have been crowned Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division champions after winning 1-0 at Windsor.

They needed at least a point to claim the title after Brimscombe & Thrupp had beaten Abingdon United 4-0 on Sunday.

Steve Robertson’s strike proved enough for Wantage 24 hours later as they clinched the crown.

Shrivenham were also in action on Monday, but lost 5-1 at Bishops Cleeve.

At the other end of the table, wins for Longlevens and Tuffley Rovers yesterday saw Ardley United slip into the bottom three.

Tobias London and Twariq Yusuf scored in a 2-2 draw with Bishops Cleeve on Saturday, but the side now face an anxious wait to see if they will be relegated.

In Division 1 West, Craig Robinson scored as Easington Sports beat Cirencester Dev 1-0 to land the title.

Jozef Fullerton’s 85th-minute winner earned Clanfield 85 a 2-1 win at Tytherington Rocks. Jack Kennedy was also on target.

In Division 1 East, Rio Burgdyne fired Wallingford Town to a 1-0 success at Milton United, while Dan Hatton scored in Thame Rangers’ 1-1 draw with AFC Aldermaston.

Chinnor lost 4-1 at home to Holyport, Ben Knowles with the consolation.

Didcot Town Dev lost 5-2 at Chalvey Sports.
