NORTH Leigh and Kidlington have tied down important players for the new campaign at the start of pre-season.

Roger James was the latest of a trio to recommit themselves to the Millers, while Julian McCalmon signed up five.

North Leigh lost star man Henry Landers to Maidenhead United at the start of the summer, but their squad is continuing to take shape.

Pacy winger James is staying on, while striker Aaron Woodley has agreed to a fifth season at Eynsham Park.

The group is completed by midfielder Alfie Saunders, as joint bosses Craig Dore and Darren James make further progress.

Fellow Evo-Stik South League Division One Central side Kidlington have also made progress.

Lewis Gabbidon has been made captain due to Sam Warrell’s absence while he recovers from a broken leg.

McCalmon said: “With Sam out injured, Gabby was the obvious choice to take over as skipper.

“I’m delighted he’s committed to us for another season.”

Joining him is Mark Flanagan, back after a spell with Wantage Town.

Another on board is Chris Jordan, who showed enough promise at the end of last season, when he joined from Brackley Town Saints, to ensure the 21-year-old was offered a deal.

Harry Williams, 17, is seen as a rising star, while Aaron Morton is stepping up after impressing for the club’s development side.
