KARL Robinson is hopeful Oxford United’s recruitment drive will continue this week with the arrival of a striker.

Adding pace and goals is the focus now, with veteran Jamie Mackie the squad’s only specialist centre forward.

The U’s are aiming to bring two front men in and head coach Robinson believes the first deal could drop before the weekend.

Speaking on Saturday, he said: “We’re probably four or five days away, but we might have a striker lined up.

“I was told by Tiger (U’s owner Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth) that the agent said it could probably happen this week.

“We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”
