OXFORD United’s players are expected to produce a high-energy display at leaders Blackpool today following rotation in midweek.

Boss Karl Robinson is likely to reverse all seven changes he made to the XI for the Carabao Cup tie victory against Peterborough United.

The one injury doubt is Tariqe Fosu (hamstring), but if he is not risked then Anthony Forde and Rob Hall are available after coming through their first starts of the campaign on Tuesday.

Blackpool made just four changes for their cup tie, where they lost on penalties at home to Macclesfield Town.

So Robinson knows if today’s game goes against them, it will not be down to fatigue.

He said: “The pleasing thing about the other night is we made seven changes and although Ben (Woodburn) had to come on that means six players are completely fresh for Saturday.

“So there will be no excuses from that.”

Jamie Mackie had the night off in a bid to keep him fresh.

The forward’s tireless performances have set the tone as United have collected four points from their opening two matches in Sky Bet League One.

And skipper John Mousinho believes Mackie’s contribution should not be underestimated.

He said: “The biggest compliment I can pay him is that while I think I’d enjoy playing against him, I’m glad he’s on my team.

“I think he’s a nightmare for centre halves to handle and he’s just constantly going at you.

“He’s made his whole career out of it, so we really have benefitted in the last two games.

“It’s just about us keeping him fit and squeezing as much out of his body as we can.”

He added: “As a captain, having someone with his personality in the dressing room is invaluable.

“He’s a leader and infectious in terms of the positivity and work rate he brings.

“He looks after himself and that’s why he’s playing with intensity and hunger at 33.”

The hosts will be without injured pair Mark Howard and Matty Virtue, while James Husband is suspended.
