BANBURY United manager Mike Ford is confident his side can silence a big crowd when they travel to Bromsgrove Sporting in Premier Central tomorrow.

The hosts will have a crowd approaching four figures backing them in the BetVictor Southern League clash.

But Ford is unfazed by the challenge and insists the Puritans will relish the atmosphere.

“I’m really looking forward to this game,” he said.

“Bromsgrove will be hot favourites against little old Banbury.

“They will have a passionate and vociferous crowd against us, and it’s our job to frustrate them and quieten them down.

“Everyone connected with Bromsgrove have been used to winning games.

“They were way too good for most of their opponents last year, and I don’t think that mentality will change.”

Ford names the same squad who beat Barwell 2-1 on Monday and is hoping the maintain their high standards.

“It was a good win on Monday,” he said.

“We changed the shape late on to win the game, and it paid off.

“My players worked their socks off on a really hot day, and to get the win was important.

“But we showed a lot of desire and can take that desire and confidence into the Bromsgrove game tomorrow.”

Didcot Town will try again for their first league victory as they entertain Yaxley in Division 1 Central.

Luke Carnell is doubtful after a head injury on Monday required 11 stitches, while Joe Green (calf) is 50/50.

Boss Jamie Heapy, who was forced to don his boots for the first time in three years in the goalless draw at Aylesbury United, is happy with his side’s progression.

“I’m looking to build on a good weekend in which we came out undefeated and into the next round of the FA Cup,” he said.

“We need to start making it tough for visiting teams to Loop Meadow – our home form will be very important this year.”

North Leigh travel to Cambridgeshire to take on St Neots looking to build on back-to-back victories over the Bank Holiday weekend.

An FA Cup success on Saturday was followed up by a 2-1 win over Wantage Town on Monday in a game which saw keeper Eddie Cavanagh sent off.

Joint boss Craig Dore said: “We played really well against Wantage, despite being down to ten men. We dominated and deserved the points.

“We know very little about St Neots, but they were in the Premier Division last year, and I’m sure will be looking to get back to that level.

“If we control our own game, I am confident we will be able to put in a similar show to the Wantage game and get a positive result.”

Dore is waiting to hear whether Cavanagh will be suspended for tomorrow’s game, so has named both him and Mo Otuyo in the squad.

Thame United boss Mark West is looking for a quick reaction when he takes his team to Bedworth United.

A 3-0 defeat at Kidlington on Monday sees West’s side second bottom in the fledgling table.

West said: “We were 1-0 down at half-time, but should have levelled just after the break.

“We then gave away a sloppy second goal and that was game over.

“I’ve not been able to put my first-choice XI on the pitch yet.

“I tried Lynton (Goss) over the weekend, but he just wasn’t right with his hip problem and he will be out for a while.”

West will also be without Harry Mepham and Noah Alabi, who both have ankle problems, while Matt Peake-Pijnen is away.

Kidlington are without four first-team players for their game at second-placed Berkhampsted.

Jacob Blackstock, Declan Benjamin, Elliott Osborne-Ricketts and Anaclet Odhiambo all miss out.

Wantage Town, the only side in the division without a point, travel to Kempston Rovers.
