AHEAD of each of United's Sky Bet League One games this season, we are looking back at memorable matches against their next opponents.

November 30, 2013: Fleetwood Tn 1, Oxford United 1

DAVE Kitson’s late header salvaged a point for Oxford United to keep the U’s top of League Two.

United dominated Fleetwood Town throughout the second half at Highbury, yet defeat looked inevitable when Danny Rose’s penalty was saved ten minutes from time.

But as the game entered its final minutes, Kitson met David Hunt’s cross from the right and the striker made no mistake to preserve his side’s unbeaten away record.

United had been behind from the 12th minute, when Steven Schumacher curled a free-kick over Ryan Clarke and into the far corner.

Despite the early setback, the U’s were on top in a first half where Josh Ruffels, Ryan Williams and Johnny Mullins all went close.

For all that United pressure, Schumacher could have doubled the lead on 32 minutes but he blazed a Gareth Evans cross off target.

After the break, the visitors stepped it up a gear.

James Constable wasted a golden chance from close range and Kitson forced a fantastic save from Fleetwood keeper Scott Davies, before the striker was brought down in the box.

Rose could not take advantage, but Kitson ensured United were top of the tree heading into December.
