TRANMERE Rovers have endured a difficult start to life back in Sky Bet League One and are only above Oxford United on goal difference.

Manager Micky Mellon made several changes for last Saturday’s impressive 1-1 draw at Rotherham United and these players will look to keep their places.

Connor Jennings

The striker is one of several members of the Rovers squad who helped the club achieve successive promotions to the third tier.

He amassed 55 games in all competitions last season, scoring 13 goals, and has already found the net three times this campaign.

Stefan Payne

After shining for Shrewsbury Town in 2017/18, Payne was brought back down to earth with a bump in a difficult spell at Bristol Rovers last year.

The forward joined Tranmere this summer and battled well against Rotherham, capping his performance with a 95th-minute equaliser.

Liam Ridehalgh

The defender joined Rovers in 2013, initially on loan, and has played for the club almost 200 times.

He was pushed into midfield in a 3-4-3 on Saturday and his experience and versatility could be vital tomorrow.
