WEST Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini is expected to name a strong side against Oxford United tonight.

The Hammers manager is set to make a host of changes to the team that beat Manchester United 2-0 on Sunday, but has multiple players with international experience to call on.

English midfielder Jack Wilshere, Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson and Argentinian veteran Pablo Zabaleta could all feature in the Carabao Cup third round tie at the Kassam Stadium.

The Premier League are side fifth in the top division, with Sunday's game West Ham's third league clean sheet in a row - something they have not achieved since December 2017.

Several stars are expected to be rested, including England international Declan Rice, who said it was important West Ham's performance levels did not drop against United.

He told the club's official website: "That mentality not to concede is there.

"When was the last time we kept three clean sheets in a row? As a West Ham player, I know that never really happens, so that's a massive bonus.

"We're working so, so hard from back to front and every time we step out on that pitch the manager is giving us the belief we can win."

Left back Arthur Masuaku is in contention for West Ham after missing Sunday's game due to suspension, while the club will assess the fitness of Manuel Lanzini.

Winston Reid and Michail Antonio are both sidelined through injury.
