GILLINGHAM started their Sky Bet League One campaign slowly, failing to win until a 5-0 thumping of Bolton Wanderers on August 31.

Their form has picked up since then and these players will aim to help tomorrow’s visitors avoid returning to Kent empty-handed.

MAX EHMER

The centre back is now in his fifth season at Priestfield and was made club captain in January 2017.

A commanding presence in defence, the German is now 29-years-old so should be in his prime.

ALEX JAKUBIAK

The ex-U’s loanee, below, was another player to hurt Karl Robinson’s side last season, scoring both goals as Bristol Rovers won 2-0 at the Kassam Stadium in December.

Jakubiak scored just once for United during a short spell in 2014, but had four for the season by the start of September.

BRANDON HANLAN

Oxford United supporters will have unhappy memories of Hanlan, who scored an 89th-minute winner in the last meeting between these sides in March.

He returned to the starting line-up after impressing off the bench earlier this month and is a real threat when he is on form.
