OXFORD United are still in the running to boost their Emirates FA Cup revenue by £250,000.

It has already been a useful run for Karl Robinson’s side.

Prize money from the first three rounds has brought in £225,000, while the broadcast fee for their game at Hayes & Yeading United in November netted another £75,000.

But there is also an additional windfall for the side in each EFL division who goes the furthest in the competition.

United are one of five Sky Bet League One sides left in the FA Cup, alongside Coventry City, Portsmouth, Shrewsbury Town and Tranmere Rovers.

If all sides get knocked out at the same stage, the £250,000 would be shared equally.

But should United spring a surprise, their chances of a big bonus would increase markedly.

There is also £180,000 up for grabs in prize money, but the visitors should receive a figure close to that even in defeat.

Both sides net 45 per cent of gate receipts in the FA Cup, so the bumper attendance in excess of 45,000 at St James’ Park means a guaranteed jackpot for United.
