JORDANNE Whiley has been knocked out of the Australian Open at the quarter-final stage.
The 27-year-old lost 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) to Japanese No 2 seed Yui Kamiji overnight in the women's wheelchair singles.
Whiley, who lives in Steventon, was playing in the competition for the first time since 2016 after only returning from maternity leave last February.
She will get another shot at glory in the women's doubles alongside Kamiji, who Whiley partnered for her winning campaigns in 2014 and 2015.
