GEORGIA Clifford has been voted Oxford United Women’s player of the season.
The influential defender topped the poll for supporters after an impressive campaign.
Kayleigh Hines won goal of the season for her spectacular long-range strike against Portsmouth.
Liam Gilbert’s side were third in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division when play was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The results were then expunged after the season was declared null and void.
The squad and the younger age groups may not be playing, but they have been busy with a daily stay at home skills challenge for people to try during lockdown.
They have also launched a fundraising campaign which aims to raise £3,000 for the Ronald McDonald House at Oxford Children’s Hospital.
It involves accumulating 1,300 miles in the space of a week, by running, walking and cycling.
The distance is the equivalent of going to Vitesse in the Netherlands – where one of their teams were due to go on tour – and back.
More than £1,000 has been raised online already.
