OXFORD United’s attitude during lockdown has enabled them to hit the ground running ahead of the Sky Bet League One play-offs, says Elliott Moore.

Karl Robinson’s side are just six days away from their semi-final first leg against Portsmouth, which will end a wait of almost four months for a competitive game.

The U’s spent most of the enforced break only able to carry out individual fitness work and had their play-off fixtures confirmed just this month.

But centre back Moore revealed United’s professionalism during their time away has paid dividends since they returned to training.

The 23-year-old said: “It’s all credit to the staff, as well as the players.

“All the way through that time we never knew when we were going to be coming back.”

“The coaching staff have been great at keeping us ticking over, getting us ready for when this time came.

“The mentality of the lads has been the same the way through.

“It’s hard to get your head around, but we’ve had three weeks to prepare for a massive double-header and we’ve got to be ready.”
