OXFORD United have confirmed George Thorne has moved on.
The midfielder signed a short-term contract in January, having spent the first half of the season on loan from Derby County.
Injury issues, notably a dislocated shoulder, plagued the spell, limiting him to seven appearances.
Boss Karl Robinson felt the midfielder would not get up to speed in time to be involved in the Sky Bet League One play-off campaign after the long break for lockdown.
And United have now clarified the 27-year-old will not be offered a new deal and leaves by mutual consent, so he is not part of the squad travelling to Wales for a pre-season camp today.
Thorne told the club's website: “I’ve loved my time with Oxford. It’s a good club and the Gaffer and the lads have been brilliant.
"Obviously it has been frustrating not to play more games but I still think I have something to offer and I’ll explore all the options ahead of the new season.
"I thank everyone at Oxford and wish the club well for the future.”
