OXFORD United Under 18s scored twice in the dying moments to snatch a dramatic 3-2 win over Yeovil Town.

Jack Gardner hammered home a controversial equaliser after the visitors had been penalised for a backpass, before Gatlin O’Donkor, below, ran clear in stoppage-time to secure a huge three points.

The triumph puts the U’s five points clear of second-placed AFC Bournemouth in EFL Youth Alliance southwest division, with the Cherries needing to win their final two matches of the season to stay in contention for the title.

Callum Crook gave United a slim advantage at the break, but Yeovil went 2-1 up with five minutes left – before mayhem ensued.

Visiting captain Jian Medrana, who had scored his side’s equaliser, was sent off for kicking the ball away, before keeper Callum Smalley was penalised for picking it up a yard from his goal after a touch from a defender.

Gardner smashed home the rebound after the first effort was kept out, with one of the Yeovil coaches red-carded for his protestations.

O’Donkor then showed great composure amid the mayhem to strike the winner one-on-one in stoppage time.

It means United will win the title if they beat Newport County on Saturday.
