OXFORD United Under 18s clinched the EFL Youth Alliance southwest title with a 2-0 win at Newport County.
Second-half strikes from Tyler Goodrham and Gatlin O'Donkor ensured the U's end the season with silverware, leaving nearest challengers AFC Bournemouth, who still have one game left, five points behind.
The hosts boasted several players who featured in the first team earlier in the season, but United edged a goalless opening 45 minutes.
The U's could not break the deadlock, though, with Callum Crook and Clinton Nosakhare both heading good opportunities wide.
United brought on Enrique Tiamuna at half-time and he was soon joined by Josh Anifowose, Gatlin O’Donkor and George Franklin.
But the opening goal came from a player who had impressed right from the kick-off.
Goodrham cut inside and curled an excellent effort into the top corner to put the U's 1-0 up with 19 minutes left.
It was a slender lead, but O'Donkor sealed victory late on as he lifted the ball over the goalkeeper for his 20th strike of the season.
United can keep their dreams of a double alive tomorrow, when they face Gillingham in the regional semi-final of the EFL Cup.
