OXFORD United Women will aim to follow-up their first win of pre-season when they return to Court Place Farm tomorrow.

The U's host Championship side Charlton Athletic (2pm) in a re-run of April's Vitality Women's FA Cup fourth-round tie, which they lost 2-1 after extra time.

It is a chance for new signing Beth Lumsden to face her former club, having got off the mark for United in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Birmingham City Under 21s.

Carly Johns scored the other two goals, while Riva Casley and Molly Childerhouse got their first run-outs in a U's shirt.

It is just over two weeks until United begin their FA Women's National League Premier South campaign at home to Gillingham and manager Liam Gilbert is satisfied with their progress.

He told the club's official website: “We’ve now managed to get 90 minutes into all of the players’ legs, which is really important for this stage in pre-season so I’m really happy with that.

“New patterns and new partnerships are starting to develop within the team now which I’m really happy with, and of course it’s always great to play in front of our fans.”

The U's lost 2-1 to Wolves in their first pre-season friendly six days ago.

United also announced their seventh summer signing this week, as winger Daisy Ackerman joined from Arsenal's Under 21 side.

She said: “The talks to join were really positive, Liam was really encouraging for me to come here and this will be a really good opportunity for me to get lots of minutes in.

“I like to get up and down the wing a lot, overlapping and getting crosses into the box.

"I’ve been at Arsenal for a year and before I was at Bristol City.

“My biggest aim is just to get lots of minutes in this season and enjoy it.

"I hope to improve and get better and for the team to win and go up this season.”

Meanwhile, United's academy sides host Brighton & Hove Albion at the training ground at midday today, with the Under 19s and Under 17s in action.
