TWO of Oxford United’s Sky Bet League One promotion rivals won on the road this afternoon.

MK Dons were 2-0 down after eight minutes at Lincoln City, but fought back to triumph 3-2 at Sincil Bank.

The Imps were quickly in a commanding position, thanks to Warren O’Hora’s own goal and a penalty by ex-U’s forward Chris Maguire.

But Scott Twine and Matt O’Riley levelled the scores with 15 minutes left, before the former won it late on with a deflected effort.

MK are now a point behind sixth-placed United.

Elsewhere, Plymouth Argyle went four points clear of the U’s with a 2-0 win at Cheltenham Town.

Panutche Camara and Jordan Garrick scored either side of the break to beat the Robins, who travel to the Kassam Stadium on New Year’s Day.

United have two games in hand on fourth-placed Plymouth.

Rotherham United’s 21-match unbeaten run ended with a 1-0 defeat at Accrington Stanley, Sean McConville scoring 15 minutes from time.

The Millers stay only eight points ahead of the U’s, having now played a game more.

Meanwhile, Shrewsbury Town won 3-0 at Fleetwood Town to rise to 18th.
