HENLEY Hawks could not live with Redruth as the National 2 South high-fliers ran out 43-21 winners in an entertaining contest.
Tom Emery put the visitors ahead when he touched down after seven minutes, Monty Bradbury adding the extras, but the second-placed hosts quickly asserted their dominance.
A penalty and a pair of converted tries put them 17-7 up, only for Hawks to hit back.
Guy Rawsthorn then collected Bradbury’s chip to score under the posts, with the conversion reducing the deficit to three points.
But Sam Lunnon was yellow-carded for a high tackle and Redruth took advantage, touching down to lead 24-14 at the break.
The contest was all-but over when they went 38-14 up through two quick tries, both converted.
Alex Harmes went under the posts after great work from Reuben Norville, before a Redruth try completed the scoring.
Henley remain fifth in National 2 South.
Banbury Bulls stayed top of South West 1 East with a 21-16 win at Beaconsfield, while Oxford Quins kept the pressure on with an equally tight 22-19 victory at Frome.
There were more close contests as Witney triumphed 33-29 at Newbury Blues and Grove drew 10-10 with Marlborough.
In Southern Counties North, Bicester thrashed Thatcham 59-5 thanks to an excellent all-round performance.
Wallingford won 22-5 at Milton Keynes, while Gosford All Blacks went down 62-8 at High Wycombe.
