JORDAN Flynn is aiming to reap the benefits of an intense training regime when he contests his fourth professional fight tomorrow.

The Cowley boxer goes up against Marian Marius Istrate, from Romania, at London’s iconic York Hall.

Flynn is on a card headlined by Danny Dignum’s WBO European middleweight title defence and will fight in front of a global audience, with ESPN+ broadcasting live in America and IFL TV showing the event worldwide.

The rising star has been hard at work since beating Lee Connelly on points last October, training alongside WBA continental welterweight champion Conor Benn and Commonwealth lightweight title-holder Joe Cordina.

Flynn is in peak condition going into tomorrow’s fight and he is ready to show what he can do.

He said: “I’m definitely in the best shape I’ve been in.

“Training has been good, but every day is hard and it never gets easier. I’ve got to try and enjoy it.

“I wanted to get the rewards of the hard work.

“All this is making me better going into this next fight.”

Flynn won his previous three professional bouts and has experience at the Bethnal Green venue, beating Jamie Quinn in September 2020.

The Oxford fighter had to wait a year for his next bout, against Connelly, before going straight into a training camp for a scheduled fight for December that was cancelled.

After a week off for Christmas, Flynn kept the hammer down and saw what it takes to reach the top after working with Benn and Cordina.

He said: “All the guys I’m training with are on big cards.

“You learn how hard you need to work to be at that level.

“Lots of people want to get involved but there aren’t many who can stick with the regime every day.

“You need to be mentally strong.”

During his latest camp, Flynn would spar for eight rounds of four minutes each, with just 30 seconds rest in between.

It should mean he can easily go the distance for tomorrow’s six-round bout.

Flynn’s final session was on Tuesday and he is now raring for the fight, as he bids to begin a big year in front of 200 friends and family members.

“People are still asking for tickets, but I couldn’t get hold of any more,” he said.

“There’s no reason why I can’t get five fights this year.”

“I’m just going to enjoy it and look good doing it.”
