OXFORD Cheetahs captain Scott Nicholls is itching to put on a show for another sold-out Sandy Lane crowd.

The newcomers will look to gain revenge on SGB Championship holders Poole Pirates at Oxford Stadium this evening (7.30pm), five days after losing 58-32 on the south coast.

All 2,000 tickets were snapped up well in advance following a memorable opening-night win over Scunthorpe Scorpions a week ago.

And Nicholls wants to keep the excitement going with a victory over Poole.

He said: “We’re desperately hungry to do it.

“There was such a buzz, it was great to see so many people here.

“We were all a little bit nervous but we’ve had that first round and can put it to bed.

“We move on to Poole, it’s going to be tough but we’re up for the win.”

The skipper added: “If we keep selling-out like that all season then it’s great all-round.”

Cheetahs beat Scunthorpe 49-40 in their first competitive fixture for 15 years, with Nicholls scoring 12+2.

The final tickets for tonight’s meeting were sold last Thursday, although fans can already secure their place for next Wednesday’s Championship Knockout Cup first round first leg tie against Redcar Bears.
