NATHAN Stoneman is hoping to help Oxford Chargers claim their second win in 48 hours tonight.

The development team make the long trip north to face Scottish side Armadale Devils (7.30pm), fresh from Wednesday’s 50-39 victory over Berwick Bullets at Oxford Stadium.

Stoneman weighed in with a 12+2 points haul at Sandy Lane, while captain Jordan Jenkins picked up a 15-point maximum.

It gives Chargers some momentum going into the meeting against the National Development League basement boys, but the Greater Leys rider is not getting ahead of himself.

Stoneman said: “Whether someone’s at the bottom or the top of the league, you go there with the same intentions.

“If you start looking down on a team it comes back to bite you.

“Armadale’s a bit of a tricky track, but it’s about going there and doing your job.”

Stoneman has lived in Oxford for many years, so will always be well-supported at Sandy Lane – with nearly 70 friends and family members watching him on Wednesday.

He said: “It’s good to see them all there supporting me racing for my club.

“Even my neighbours from across the road were there, so it was great.”
