THE Black Prince claimed an impressive win over Donnington C as the scores improved in week three of the Oxford & District season.

The front-runners maintained their 100 per cent record as they hit 92 dolls on their way to a 3-0 victory.

Setting in all three legs, the Prince began with an impressive 33-17 win and then struck 30 to leave Donnington anchor man Steve Greenough needing six to tie.

He gave it a worthy effort, hitting five to leave them just one short with 29.

The Prince then claimed maximum points with a final-leg triumph of 29-21.

Roger Goodall (5-5-3) and Dick Walsh (5-3-5) both hit a baker’s dozen.

Elsewhere, Gladiators A hit 90 dolls in their 3-0 victory at The George A.

Martin Cook clanged off 14 dolls (5-5-4), with Chris Jenkins (4-5-4) leading the supporting cast as the whole team reached double figures in a 31-26, 30-25, 29-22 triumph.

The Swan A beat visitors New Club 3-0 to make it three wins out of three.

Playing with a man short, the away side were never really in the contest but only lost the opening leg 17-15.

Swan then took advantage of the numerical advantage, winning the next two legs 25-16, 27-15.

In Section Two, the battle between Six Bells A and D went in the latter’s favour.

Pete Rampton (4-5-4) and Steve Ward (1-6-5) excelled for the D team to secure an 18-13, 21-19, 15-22 triumph as both sides ended with 54 dolls.

Ben Green hit a consistent dozen (4-4-4) to guide the Chequers B to a maximum 3-0 win against visitors Donnington A, with leg scores of 20-16, 18-16, 17-13.
