OXFORD Cheetahs took revenge on Birmingham Brummies with a dramatic fightback at the Perry Barr Stadium.

The visitors claimed a 5-1 in the final heat to win 47-43 overall as captain Scott Nicholls collected a stunning 16 points on the night.

Cheetahs were six points behind going into the closing stages but they turned it around for a much-needed victory, 24 hours after Brummies took the spoils at Sandy Lane.

Nicholls was ably assisted by Chris Harris, who picked up 12+1 from another strong performance with Troy Batchelor still sidelined.

There were also important interventions from Kyle Newman (6+1) and Jack Thomas (6), while Justin Sedgmen top-scored for Birmingham with 11.

The result saw Jason Crump’s men move above their opponents into seventh in the SGB Championship, putting them level with Berwick Bandits and Redcar Bears.

Cheetahs are now without a fixture for three weeks, with their next meeting against Newcastle Diamonds at Sandy Lane on Wednesday, June 8.
