NATHAN Stoneman was in the thick of the action as Oxford Chargers beat Plymouth Centurions 50-39 at Sandy Lane.
The Greater Leys rider top-scored for the hosts with 11+2 and went flying after a spectacular collision at the first bend late in the meeting.
Thankfully, Stoneman got to his feet to ensure nothing took the gloss off a positive night for Chargers.
In their first meeting for 26 days, the development team picked up where they left off with their third win in a row.
Stoneman was ably assisted by captain Jordan Jenkins (11) and Sam Hagon (10), while Jacob Clouting and Arran Butcher chipped in with 8+2 and 7+3 respectively.
Alfie Bowtell was Plymouth’s star man as four heat wins helped him rack up 14 points.
The victory moves Chargers up to third in the National Development League.
They are back in action tomorrow night when they face fifth-placed Belle Vue Colts at the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester.
