NEW signing Henry Landers was on the scoresheet as Banbury United began pre-season with a victory.

The former North Leigh forward made it 3-0 after half an hour at Easington Sports, following a pair of headers from Ricky Johnson.

Josh Bowden pulled a goal back for the Uhlsport Hellenic League side before half-time and Nat Lewars struck late on to make it 3-2.

Thame United won by the same scoreline against Binfield, but twice had to come from behind.

A trialist came up with the first equaliser, on 34 minutes, but Binfield restored their lead just after the break.

Dan West levelled the scores with 20 minutes remaining, before Ryan Blake bagged an 82nd-minute winner for Thame, who have confirmed Harry Mepham will be back for a fourth season.

Bradley Walton’s brace helped Ardley United to a 5-2 success at home to Bure Park.

Walton’s efforts included a penalty, while Patrick Starrett and Tyvon Stewart also notched to give Ardley a 4-1 lead at the break.

Jimmy Casbierd added the fifth, while Rowan Chappell and Jack Hornett replied for the Oxfordshire Senior League visitors.

Wantage Town lost 3-0 at Winslow United on Friday night.
