OXFORD City and Banbury United can get within one win of the Emirates FA Cup first round proper if they can negotiate their third round qualifying ties tonight.

City should start as favourites as they host Tamworth, who play in the division below them.

Both sides have started their respective campaigns well and City boss David Oldfield did not play down the significance of the tie.

He said: “It’s a massive game for us and a big game for them.

“I know their club well and the passion around that place, so we need to make sure we match it.”

Banbury have made a good start under Andy Whing and after knocking out National League North side Leamington in the previous round will fancy their chances of progressing.

They visit Peterborough Sports, who are five places below the Puritans in the Southern League Premier Central table.
