DIDCOT Town have snapped up Felipe Barcelos from Cirencester Town ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Evesham United.

The striker, who has played for Banbury United and Oxford City, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s Evo-Stik South League West Division clash.

Boss Andy Ballard was delighted to sign the highly-rated attacker.

He said: “Felipe comes to us with experience of a higher level. He has bags of pace and skill and has scored goals wherever he has been.”

Didcot have been dealt a blow, however, with midfielder Callum McNish ruled out for up to six weeks with damaged knee ligaments in the defeat at Shortwood last weekend.

“That’s a massive loss for us,” said Ballard. “Callum has been exceptional this season. He’s a winner, who leads by example.”

Ballard has spoken of the need to defend properly if his side are not to leave Evesham empty handed.

He said: “It’s always a tough place to go. One of our downfalls this season has been keeping a clean sheet and I believe we will need that if we are to get anything from the game.”

North Leigh have a chance for quick revenge when they host Wimborne Town.

The Millers lost 3-1 to the Dorset side in the FA Trophy last week, in a game which included a freak goal from inside Wimborne’s own half.

But boss John Brough is adamant they can turn around their poor form over the coming weeks, starting tomorrow.

He said: “Everyone is fully fit. We are certainly looking for a bit of revenge.

“We started really well last week and created chances, but then we stopped doing what was getting us success and the overall performance wasn’t good enough.

“But we’ve had a good team meeting and know what we need to do to get back on track.”

Kidlington make the trip to Larkhall Athletic.

James Organ and Callum Harvey have gone on loan to Uhlsport Hellenic League side Abingdon United, but boss Julian McCalmon names an otherwise full-strength squad.

In the East Division, Thame United have four players missing for their trip to Cambridge City.

Nick Harrison (thigh) and John Dennis (ankle) are injured, with Ben Connolly and Luke Ricketts on holiday.

West said: “We’ll probably only have about 13 players with us. We are a bit short.”
