MATT Williams is calling on Chinnor to build upon another impressive victory when they host Bishops Stortford at Kingsey Road.

The newly-promoted side are continuing to surprise in National League 1, with last week’s win at previous leaders Cinderford their fourth from five games.

Tomorrow’s opponents Stortford are an old adversary from the division below and director of rugby Williams is looking forward to another test.

He said: “It’s good to renew old rivalries – we’ve historically been very competitive teams.

“We try to play a very similar brand of rugby, we both want to throw the ball around.

“But we don’t want to allow the game to become a free-for-all and high-scoring.”

Chinnor make four changes, with George Davis, Jack Ramshaw, Dave Brazier and James Neal starting.

Williams added: “Last week was probably the best result so far.

“Our attacking rugby was the best it’s been all year – back to the shapes of pre-season.

“And even when we had issues in the scrum, we did not allow that to affect the outcome of the game.”

Henley Hawks host Dings Crusaders in National League 2 South.

Luke Allen’s side, who have been hit by injury and unavailability in recent weeks, are in an upbeat mood after earning their first victory in three games last weekend.

Hawks make one change, with Juite Tipua coming in for his debut on the wing in place of Sam Portland, who is struggling with illness.

Head coach Allen said: “The win last Saturday was crucial.

“The boys took buoyancy from that and are feeling confident.”

Matt Goode is backing his Banbury side to bounce back when they travel to Old Centralians in South West 1 East.

Having seen their 21-match winning run ended a fortnight ago, Bulls head into the fixture on the back of successive defeats.

Dan Kirwin’s wrist break last week added to an already lengthy injury list, but Goode believes his players will deliver.

The head coach said: “We’ve got a great team bond and togetherness.

“When we go to Old Centralians we’ll be firing and we’re going for that win.”

Witney travel to Stratford-upon-Avon looking for their first victory.

With injuries in the front row, Jake Fisk and Adam Nobbs are in contention for a first-team debut at loose-head.

Carl Campbell, Tom Puddle and George Lewis return.

Oxford Harlequins host Wimborne at Horspath Sports Ground.

The RFU-funded artificial pitch where they now play their home games will be officially opened before the match.
