BANBURY Bulls remain top of South West 1 East after thumping Chippenham 55-15 to record a fourth straight win.

The Oxfordshire side went 3-0 down early on, but Justin Parker responded instantly with an unconverted try.

Hooker Chris Davies stretched the lead to 10-3 before Parker touched down again, with Duncan Leese converting.

Bulls were out of sight by half-time, with Jacob Mills’ try and Leese’s second conversion putting them 24-3 ahead.

They continued to impress in the second half and Leese converted Alex Caviezel Cox’s score, before failing to add the extras after touching down himself.

Two Chippenham tries, one converted, reduced the deficit to 36-15, but Dan Brady crossed for Bulls and Leese added the two points.

The centre finished a great team move to make it 48-15, before adding another couple of points when James Jennings touched down.

Oxford Harlequins returned to winning ways with a 48-32 win at Salisbury.

Allan Purchase gave Quins the lead with his

second-minute score, converted by Rory Garratt, but the hosts hit back with a penalty and two tries to lead 13-7.

The visitors were back in front when Purchase and Garrett combined for another seven points, with the latter converting two Freddie Myatt tries to make it 28-13 at half-time.

Salisbury scored an unconverted try early in the second half, before Antonio Turetta and Martin Nutt replied for Quins, Garrett again adding the extras.

The fly-half then kicked two penalties late on.
