CHINNOR Kites have unveiled their new kit ahead of the first senior ladies game at Kingsey Road in more than a decade.

The Thame-based club have joined forces with Akuma Sports to produce the strip, which will be worn for tonight’s fixture against Oxfordshire Barbarians.

The Kites’ home jersey carries the Oxfordshire side’s traditional black and white stripes, with black sleeves, shorts and socks and a gold trim.

Chinnor introduced a women’s team last summer following the formation of their girls sides and both have proved popular, despite the constraints of the coronavirus pandemic.

The club said: “We have since seen both sides grow in numbers, further reinforcing our commitment of providing inclusive rugby for our community.”

Tonight’s game is allowed to go ahead despite the Covid case within Chinnor’s ranks that has seen their first XV cancel tomorrow’s friendly against Rams.

Chinnor’s Colts face Aylesbury this evening, while this weekend’s minis and juniors matches remain on.
