Two killed, one injured, in series of weekend crashes

Witney Gazette: Police are investigating the accidents Police are investigating the accidents

TWO men died in separate collisions on the M40 over the bank holiday weekend.

And yesterday a woman was taken to hospital after her car overturned on the A420 at Cumnor.

In the first collision, a 61-year-old man was killed after his Jaguar car overturned between Banbury and Gaydon on Sunday at about 10.25am.

His black S-Type left the southbound carriageway and went up the embankment. He was declared dead at the scene.

Two other passengers in the vehicle, a man, 32, and a seven-year-old girl, were taken to the Horton General Hospital, in Banbury, with minor injuries. They have both since been discharged.

The second incident took place at about 5.15am yesterday between Lewknor and Milton Common.

A 29-year-old man driving a silver Vauxhall Astra was killed after his vehicle came off the northbound carriageway and went into a field.

Thames Valley Police said officers are seeking witnesses to the crashes or those who have information that may help investigations.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents should call police on the non-emergency number 101.

Yesterday the ambulance service said the woman taken to hospital after the collision on the A420 at the junction with Abingdon Road had minor injuries.

It involved a red Nissan Micra and a blue Renault Espace and happened at about 9am.

John Lamb says...

Not enough police presence on the A34 or M40.
It's like a racetrack on them.
It's too late just turning up to deal with the crashes.
Why doesn't Thames Valley Police join the police witness/youtube program if they're serious about tackling this problem?
Lots more eyes on the road with all the dashcams people have to use to avoid the crash for cash gangs polluting Oxfordshire (alhough strangely they are hardly mentioned in the media. Could the TVP possibly be making the same mistakes as before and be afraid of racism? The main gangs are Asian, just like those involved in the belated Operation Bullfinch)
