OXFORD swimmer Rosie Bancroft has fallen victim to a 'heartless' and 'disgusting' burglary in which her prosthetic leg was stolen.
The para-swimmer, a Team GB Paralympic hopeful, appealed on social media after her house in Manchester was burgled on Saturday night.
Formerly a star of the City of Oxford Swimming Club, the 23-year-old is from Oxford but studying zoology in Manchester.
Burglars stole her specially-adapted car, which had a prosthetic leg inside, as well as her passport, cards and coat.
Supporters on social media condemned the burglary, and the post has been shared more than 1,200 times on Facebook and Twitter.
One person tweeted 'whoever did this is heartless', while another branded it 'disgusting'.
