A SEARCH and rescue organisation will be able to train more water rescue personnel thanks to a generous grant from an energy company.
Oxfordshire Lowland Search and Rescue was awarded £11,000 by SSE and will use the money on its swiftwater rescue technician course.
The charity is the first to respond when a vulnerable person goes missing and is funded entirely by donations.
A team of trained but unpaid professionals are on call 24 hours a day all year long.
