A MAN who stole jewellery and watches from the bedrooms of a house near Witney has been jailed.
Solomon Butler, 22, of Pinehurst West, Swindon, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary in a dwelling in a hearing at Northampton Crown Court last Friday.
He was sentenced to one year and two months’ imprisonment.

The burglary happened between 5pm on March 11 and 12.30pm on March 12 when Butler gained entry to a property in High Cogges via a downstairs window and stole jewellery and watches from bedrooms.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, returned home to find his window had been smashed and contacted police.
Officers from the Witney Priority Crime Team attended with CSI, and located a blood stain at the point of entry.
This blood stain contained DNA evidence that identified Butler as the offender.
He was arrested the following month on April 21 in Northamptonshire for an unrelated incident.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Laura Oakes of the Priority Crime Team (PCT) based at Witney police station, said: “Butler thought he had got away with this offence, but left crucial evidence at the scene which identified him as the offender.
“It was great work from our CSI team and the Priority Crime Team (PCT) that led to this identification, and allowed us to bring Butler to justice.
“Tackling burglary is a priority of the PCT, and we will investigate such offences, that cause untold harm in our communities.
“Butler will now serve a custodial sentence as a result of his actions, and I hope that the victim can put this distressing incident behind him.”
