A Londoner is accused of kidnapping a man in Oxford in order to sexually assault him - and drugging two other men in the capital and a Cotswolds village.

Luiz da Silva Neto, 35, is said to have kidnapped one alleged victim on Divinity Road, Oxford, last September with intent to commit a sexual offence.

Prosecutors also say he administered ‘unknown substances’ to other men in November and December with the intention of stupefying or overpowering them to enable sexual activity.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Monday afternoon, Neto, of Riverlight Quay, Wandsworth, was not asked to enter pleas.

Lightly bearded Neto, who sat in the dock wearing a light grey tracksuit, spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood proceedings.

He faces the following allegations:

  • Kidnap of a man in Divinity Road, Oxford, on September 10, 2021, with intent to commit a sexual offence. He is accused of kidnapping another man in Kings Road, London, on December 10.
  • Administer substance with intent to commit sexual offence in Divinity Road, Oxford, on September 10, 2021, in a village near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, on November 10, 2021, and Kings Road, London, on December 10, 2021
  • Possession of class B drugs cannabis and Methylmethcathinone and class A drugs MDMA and cocaine
  • Causing men to engage in penetrative sexual activity

Judge Maria Lamb remanded Neto in custody to return to court on Friday, January 21, for an adjourned plea hearing.

A provisional trial date was fixed for June 6 later this year.

Jonathan Stone appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service. Marie Spenwyn appeared via video link for the defendant.
