Appearing before Oxford Magistrates’ Court, Doherty, 28, of Hinckley Road, Sapcote, Leics, pleaded not guilty to fraud and engaging in aggressive commercial practices.
Maxine Davis, for Oxfordshire County Council, said Doherty was alleged to have been engaged to replace the windows after cold calling at the complainant’s home then took him to the bank to withdraw funds.
The magistrates remanded him in custody to appear before Oxford Crown Court on June 10 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
