A scam account impersonating Jeremy Clarkson is still active, despite being directly called out by the star.

Yesterday, Mr Clarkson tweeted a screenshot of an Instagram account with the username @jeremyclarksonprivate1.

The copy-cat account is pretending to be the real Mr Clarkson, with its bio stating: “I don't accept followers. Follow my official page @jeremyclarkson1"

Witney Gazette:

The account has gained more than 24,000 followers, as fans of Mr Clarkson think it is the it is the real star’s secret account.

"If you are sent this, ignore it. It’s not me," he warned fans who might otherwise have fallen for the scam.

Mr Clarkson is not the first notable figure in the county to be at the centre of a scam.

In January, Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran’s Twitter account was hacked with the hacker offering brand new PS5 consoles with the money going to charity.
